Dongbok Hwanhae Jangseong
Designated as Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Property No. 49-6, Dongbok Hwanhae Jangseong is a historic fortress wall constructed along the coastline during the late Goryeo Dynasty to defend against pirate incursions and protect the Sambyeolcho military forces. Remnants of this ancient stone barrier can still be found in areas such as Onpyeong-ri, Haengwon-ri, and Handong-ri. Today, visitors can stroll along these weathered walls, where vibrant flowers bloom at their base, offering a serene opportunity to reflect on the region’s rich history amidst natural beauty.
